Bottle Rocket Criterion Collection Released Today

Today, Cri­te­rion will finally be releas­ing a Director-​Approved Double-​Disc Spe­cial Edi­tion of Wes Anderson’s first fea­ture film Bottle Rocket. The new release will include restored res­o­lu­tion, 5.1 sound­track, com­men­tary by Ander­son, deleted scenes, “making of” doc­u­men­tary, and orig­i­nal art­work by Ian Ding­man.

For those of you who are only famil­iar with Andersen’s later films, give Bottle Rocket a shot. This low budget effort proves that under­neath all the eccen­tric sets, expen­sive art direc­tion, and high end actors, Wes Ander­son can really tell a story like few others. You’ll also get a sneak peak at the Wilson broth­ers when they were col­lage bud­dies, not superstars.
