The success of a project is not determined by how much the producer gained or lost by doing it, but by the value added to the customer because of it.
—Vince Lombardi on Success
One of the principles at Marblehead is that we don’t simply do projects to do them. They must provide value to the client and their customers. Solutions only derive value from the problems they solve or the results they produce. Otherwise you’re just spending the client’s money on a long and drawn out party. Once the party is over, there’s nothing to show for it except the mess that needs to be cleaned up. It takes some additional time to determine the value proposition, but it goes a long way in proving the solution works. Without a goal line, it’s hard to tell if you’ve scored a touchdown.
