I have found one of the best podcasts for business and marketing ideas. Harvard Business Review has a 9-12 minute “Ideacast” once a week highlighting today’s contributors to the Harvard Business Review or current bestselling business books. It’s a fantastic conversation starter and provides something to think about instead of the DJ crank calling someone’s grandmother with a scam.
Here’s the URL: HBR Ideacast. You can also subscribe within iTunes.
Here’s some of the past topics to give you a sample of the topics they discuss:
How to Protect Your Job in a Recession
Diane Coutu discusses steps to protect your job through this current recession. It’s not simply focusing and working harder but changing your attitude and mindset.
Pixar and Collective Creativity
Ed Catmull, Cofounder of Pixar, talks about how they foster a unique culture of creativity at Pixar and how other people must adjust to their unique company atmosphere in order to be successful.
Singapore Airlines’ Winning Strategy
Harvard professor Rohit Deshpande discusses while domestic airlines are cutting costs by eliminating service, Sinapore is building a profitable airline by adding new services to flights.
