Photo of the Week: This is Really Happening

One of my favorite pictures of all time, is the first shot of the Earth rising over the Moonscape beamed back from the Apollo missions. Before that moment, no one on Earth had ever been able to actually see what they were living on. It really brought home the JFK quote: “Our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children’s future. And we are all mortal.” This week’s photo is one of a series put together by Environmental Graffiti showcasing the 30 most incredible satellite images of earth. It’s further proof that no matter how small you think you contribution is to the planet, we are all in this together, and collectively we make a huge mark.
