A Cloud Hanging Over Apple Design Credibility

It’s a little tough to figure out. Apple has nearly defined to prod­uct design market for the last 10 years. They aren’t to shabby in the 2D design market either. And even my grandma knows they have near flaw­less brand­ing. So how on earth do you explain this:

I get it; its a cloud full of the apps you now have at your fin­ger­tips, but seri­ously it looks like they col­lab­o­rated with the guys who did Care Bears? I guess I just liked it better when Apple stuff looked like it was designed by soul­less badass Bauhaus-loving Germans.
