We lost an American legend. Bo Diddley died at his home with his family surrounding him singing the gospel song “Walk Around Heaven.”
He was famous in his own right, but his influence on music for the past 40 years is amazing. Just a few of the great groups of our time who were influenced by Diddley songs: Bruce Springsteen, U2, The Smiths, David Bowie, The Police, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Clash, The Velvet Underground. A full list of covers and tributes can be seen here.
A moment of silence for the man in the funny hat with the crazy rectangle-shaped guitar. Bo Diddley (December 30, 1928 – June 2, 2008)
