Last night Radiohead graced our town for the first time in 10 years. To see this show I waited in line for tickets two months ago, walked for about 45 minutes in 90 degree heat, stood in a line wrapping around the arena, waiting anxiously on the lawn, and even had to settle for a greasy $9 pizza to calm my stomach down. …and I’d do it all over again.
When the sun set, it cooled down and turned into a picture perfect night under the stars. All 21,000 fans stood for the whole 2 hours while the boys from Oxford proved they are still the best band on earth. They did fantastic live versions of the new stuff, rocked out the old stuff, and actually looked like they enjoyed Dallas.
In place of traditional spot light effects and pyrotechnics, the stage was surrounded by long vertical light tubs that provided a pulsing laser light show. And, for all you obsessive designers our there, the lighting almost perfectly matched the colors from their In Rainbows album art and promotions. (hell yeah)
I absolutely loved the show and hope our crowd convinced Radiohead that Dallas is more than big hair and Bush libraries. We’ve watched a few videos from the show and are convinced that if they ever decide to come through again, we are going to spring for the close seats.
In case you missed the show, here’s a video of my favorite moment:
Thanks to people with amazing seats and quick uploading skills, for these up close and amazing shots:

Thanks for posting this stuff — I’m OLD and wouldn’t have thought to look so quickly for something on YouTube. The show was fantastic. I felt a little better when I heard that they really hadn’t played here since the last time I considered going — AND VERY STUPIDLY DID NOT — in 1998! Had to get up at 5 a.m. for a flight to Albuquerque but it was completely worth it. I can die happy now.

This show was simply amazing. My wife and I were lucky enough to pay $160 for two lawn tickets. But we had a perfect view of the whole stage and the light show was amazing from where we were. I’ve posted some polaroids from the show, only one of them playing, over at my blog (http://www.kylesteed.com/blog). I also included some links to some other amazing pictures out there from people right up front.
